A Slice of Vinyl is an independent record shop based in Gosport, run by a family with a genuine passion for music.
What We Stock
We carry new and sealed vinyl, pre-loved records, CDs, and books — including signed editions. Pre-loved stock makes up around half of our range, so there's always something a little different to discover.
Our Community
We're an inclusive shop with a broad range of tastes. Collectors, casual listeners, and everyone in between are welcome here.
Fully Licensed
A Slice of Vinyl is fully licensed to sell alcohol, so whether you're browsing or attending one of our events, you can enjoy a drink while you're at it.
Events
We host a range of in-store and out-store events throughout the year — from intimate in-shop sessions to larger community events. Keep an eye on our Events page for what's coming up.

I can't find the record I'm after — can you track it down?

Gift Cards
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! We offer two options — digital gift cards delivered straight to your inbox, and physical gift vouchers sent via Royal Mail. Both are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can be used on anything in our store excluding events (Physical Gift Vouchers are to be used instore only)
Which should I choose — digital or physical?
It depends on how you'd like to use it! Digital gift cards are for online purchases only and are delivered straight to your inbox — perfect if you need something quickly. Physical gift vouchers are for in-store use only and are sent via Royal Mail, making them a lovely option if you'd like something to hand over in person. Just bear in mind Royal Mail delivery times when ordering.
Can I use a gift card in combination with another payment method?
Yes, if your order comes to more than the value of your gift card or voucher, you can top it up with another payment method at checkout.
My gift card isn't working — what do I do?
Drop us an email at hello@asliceofvinylrecordshop.co.uk and we'll get it sorted for you.
PRE-ORDERS
Can I cancel a pre-order?
Of course! You can cancel any pre-order for a full refund (minus a small £1 admin fee to cover processing) up to 14 days before the release date. After that, we're unable to offer cancellations or refunds as we'll have already ordered your copy specifically for you — but we appreciate your support in helping us plan ahead!
When will my pre-order be dispatched?
We'll get your order out to you on or around the release date, and you'll receive a dispatch confirmation email as soon as it's on its way. Exciting times!
Can I order in-stock items at the same time as a pre-order?
Absolutely! Just bear in mind that we'll ship everything together once your pre-order is ready. If you can't wait for your in-stock items, just pop them in a separate order and we'll get those out to you straight away.
What happens after my pre-order is dispatched?
Once your order is on its way, our standard returns policy applies. You can find all the details in our Refund Policy.
Postage & Delivery
How do you send orders?
All orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48, so you'll receive a tracking number once your order has been dispatched.
Haven't received your order or tracking number?
Just pop us an email at hello@asliceofvinylrecordshop.co.uk and we'll get it sorted for you.
My tracking isn't updating — what should I do?
Tracking can sometimes take 24 hours to update after dispatch. If you're still having issues after that, drop us an email at hello@asliceofvinylrecordshop.co.uk and we'll look into it for you.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Delivery typically takes 2–5 working days from the date of dispatch. Please bear in mind that pre-orders will be dispatched on or around the release date.
Do you offer free shipping?
Not at the moment — postage is calculated at checkout based on your order.
Do you ship internationally?
We're UK only for now, but watch this space!
Returns
Something's not right with my order — what do I do?
Get in touch as soon as possible at hello@asliceofvinylrecordshop.co.uk and we'll make it right. Please include your order number and a photo if the item is damaged.
Can I return an item?
You have 14 days from receipt to notify us that you'd like to return an item. Unopened & undamaged items will be refunded in full. Please make sure you package the item well, so it's not damage in transit back to us. Unfortunately we're unable to accept returns on opened vinyl unless the item is faulty — this is standard across the industry to protect the integrity of the stock.
What about books?
We're unable to accept returns on books unless they are faulty or not as described. This is in line with standard industry practice.
Coming to an event but need to cancel?
Let us know as soon as possible, as we may be able to sell your tickets on for you & refund you once they've been resold. We do not offer refunds for cancelled tickets where the spaces cannot be filled.
Who pays for return postage?
If the item is faulty or we've made an error, we'll cover the return postage. For change of mind returns, postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.
When will I receive my refund?
Once we've received and checked your return, we'll process your refund within 14 days. You'll receive a confirmation email when it's on its way back to you.
What about pre-orders?
Once a pre-order has been dispatched, our standard returns policy applies. For cancellations before dispatch, please see our Pre-Orders section above.
